Created for the fall Visual Thinking 2022 class taught by Susan Doyle at RISD. The original piece was created for the "Fractured Fairy Tale" assignment, in which we were instructed to turn a fairy tale on its head to create a new meaning. I selected the story of the tortoise and the hare and looked at it through the lens of social inequity caused by the inequal distribution of wealth, playing off the similarities between "hare" and "heir." Although I liked this concept, I didn't like the way I executed it, so I redid the piece later to make it stronger, using gouache and color pencil on illustration board.
