An original character for an ongoing project where each person is named after a fruit. I wanted to create a detective, and so I decided on a key phrase to guide my design process: laid-back with a heart of gold. Inspired by Malaysian culture, I wanted to show his less-than serious personality through his casual dress, messy hair, and playful expression. Aspects of his design were inspired by the Malaysian forest scorpion, and he sported a large scorpion tail in an early draft. This was later removed because it didn't mesh well with his easygoing but trustworthy personality.
